Bluebanddorp is a neighborhood in Slotervaart (Amsterdam, The Netherlands); designed by dutch modernist architect Frans van Gool and built in 1959. The houses are also known as “Zaagtandwoningen”, meaning “sawtoothhouses”, because of the characteristic salient form of the frontside of the houses. The name “Bluebanddorp”, originally a nickname, derives from the blue eaves of the houses.
